“I think that the best thing about the leadership structure that we have at Drayer is that they really invest in their employees, including myself.”
Mike Beiler
My name is Mike Beiler, I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I’ve been in the profession for 21 years and I got my start through injuries that I sustained in high school when I was treated by a great physical therapist who became a mentor and friend of mine. I’ve always loved anatomy and sports, and putting those two together led me to the profession. I feel like it chose me rather than me choosing it.

I’m married and I have a wonderful, beautiful, and talented wife who works in the research world. I have twin sons who are 17 now and just started to drive, so I am nervous for them all the time when they’re out and about. I love them to death. I still like to compete in sports myself, and I’ve gotten into some obstacle course racing over the years. I love working with orthopedic patients, musculoskeletal conditions, and that’s been my expertise over my career.

I believe in the services that Drayer provides because they really care about their patients. I mean the things that were always reviewing and looking at, is how can we make things better for them? From an experience, safety standpoint, and of course outcomes. These are things that the leadership talks about a lot, and they strive to get it into all of us to make sure that we’re doing that for our patients, so we can be the providers that people are looking for when they are looking for physical therapy treatment.

The thing that I like the most about being a physical therapist, and this is an easy question to answer for me and it’s been this way my entire career, is the relationships.

You get to meet people of all walks of life, and you get to become as close to a friend with these people when they come in the door. They’re talking about their families, we’re talking about their vacations and their weekends, and all the while you know we’re focused as clinicians on addressing their issues and their functional problems. But the environment that we’re creating and that they create for us, is that of friends working with friends and we get to hang out with each other, and have a good time. So, oftentimes when they leave they say you know I’m glad that I’m done here, but I’m sad to leave.

I think that the best thing about the leadership structure that we have at Drayer is that they really invest in their employees, including myself. I recognized that from my interview when I came on board that they asked me what do you want to do Mike, what do you want to do with your career?

Then they showed me all the different ways that you can achieve these things, and you can go into clinical work, or you can go into education, go into leadership. There’s lots of opportunities within this organization. They really strive to make sure that you become the person you want to be within the organization. One word that I would use to mirror my experience with Drayer is opportunity. We have the means to go as far as we want with our career. We can stay as clinicians and put our passion towards our patients. We can go into leadership and education and there’s even a dedicated branch to philanthropy, and you can do good work outside the clinic. That’s something else that Drayer has strived to achieve, [which] is not only being the provider of choice, but being good people and good citizens of the earth really.

“I think the most exciting thing about coming to work for me and my job is getting to wear so many different hats.”
Misty Seidenburg
I’m Misty, I am a physical therapist by trade. Currently, I’m the Vice President of Clinical Programs which is a pretty awesome job. I have the opportunity to work with education, both being a little bit in the clinic and working with patients, but also this alternative side of teaching therapists how to be amazing clinicians. Outside of work, I’m a mom of three kids, which keeps me super busy. I love running, working out, [and] I’m a secret die-hard reader.

I really got into the physical therapy field because of my passion for physical activity, and it’s been great to use that passion to drive my career forward. I think the most exciting thing about coming to work for me and my job is getting to wear so many different hats. Some days I get to come to work and I get to work directly with patients. Some days I get to work and I get to mentor different residents and help them with their clinical reasoning process, and treating patients.

Another thing that I get the opportunity to do is work on strategic initiatives. Developing different plans and seeing those roll out to help our clinicians be the best version of themselves they can be. The thing I love the most, is that every day for me is just a little bit different, but it’s all things that I’m really passionate about.

I love that our company is about more than taking care of patients, which is critically important that we want to get people living their best lives, but one of our core values is that of servanthood. I think our company lives this value. It is probably my favorite one. It is not uncommon to see our clinicians within their communities whether that’s going to a student athlete’s baseball game or a dance recital. Whether it’s helping work the medical management tent at a 5k or doing balance screens at a community event.

We really live this value and it just really serves that greater purpose of why we do what we do.
One of the things I love about our company and the way we serve our purpose is through our philanthropy arm. We have a philanthropic arm called Pillars with Purpose that has several different funds over different topics that we support.

Not only do we provide financial support to local communities which is where we focus on a variety of needs, we also have funds to support both of our associates and the global community. Both in finances, as well as serving different community service projects, we’re able to give back to those in need and really help support them.

In addition, my absolute favorite thing that our company does is that we had a day of service. You have a day of PTO that you can take and do anything you want as long as it’s giving back to service to the community.

It is my number one favorite day of the entire year I get to go and give back to the patients that come to see me. If there was one word I could use to describe working for this company, it would be rewarding. It is so rewarding to see the hard work that I’ve put in over the years and see that be recognized. The growth that I’ve personally been able to achieve, but also the people I work with and seeing what they’ve been able to achieve and how they’ve been rewarded for that. It’s never overlooked, and I truly, truly appreciate that about our company.
